Das STRI hat seinen Hauptsitz in <a href="Panama" title="Panama">Panama</a>, wo es mehrere Forschungsstationen unterhält: darunter die Insel <a href="Barro_Colorado" title="Barro Colorado">Barro Colorado</a> im <a href="Panama-Kanal" class="mw-redirect" title="Panama-Kanal">Panama-Kanal</a> und das Marine Exhibition Center auf dem <a href="Calzada_de_Amador" title="Calzada de Amador">Calzada de Amador</a>. Darüber hinaus gibt es zahlreiche Labor- und Konferenzräume, die sich über Panama verteilen.
